This immersive journey takes you across the breathtaking landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, one of the most spectacular regions in Vietnam. Beyond the dramatic mountain passes and remote ethnic villages, this experience offers a deeper cultural connection with the local communities who continue to preserve their traditional way of life.

Throughout the journey, you will meet local women living in the highlands, learn about their daily lives, and discover their unique stories, traditions, and ways of life.

This is more than a journey through breathtaking landscapes. It is an opportunity to slow down, share meaningful moments with local people, and experience Ha Giang through the perspectives of the women who call these mountains home.

Itinerary

TRANSPORTATION: HANOI – HA GIANG

20:30 – Pick-up in Hanoi

Our staff will arrange your transfer to the bus office located in Hanoi Old Quarter or pick up at the airport.

21:00 – Overnight Bus to Ha Giang

Board a comfortable sleeper bus with private cabin compartments and depart for Ha Giang. Overnight on the bus.

DAY 1 | HA GIANG CITY – KHUOI MY VILLAGE – QUAN BA – NAM DAM VILLAGE (B/L/D)

Early in the morning, you will arrive in Ha Giang City where our team will warmly welcome you and provide a temporary resting room at our Homestay.

07:30 – Breakfast & Tour Briefing

Meet your guide for a short introduction covering the itinerary, cultural norms, and safety guidelines.

Start going toward Khuoi My, a beautiful Tay ethnic village located along the Tay Con Linh mountain range. The village is famous for its breathtaking mountain scenery and terraced rice fields.

Here, you will take a gentle walk through the village, visit traditional homes, and meet friendly local women working in the fields. You may also join them in simple farming activities while sharing stories about daily life in the mountains.

Continue your journey to Thon Tha, another traditional Tay village. Here, you will meet a local woman who runs a small community tourism initiative.

Together, you will prepare lunch, exchange stories, and enjoy a warm, joyful meal with the host family.

Afternoon – Journey to the Karst Plateau

In the afternoon, continue riding toward the Dong Van Karst Plateau with scenic stops along the way:

  • Bac Sum Slope – famous for its winding mountain roads and panoramic valley views
  • Quan Ba Heaven’s gate – the gateway to the stone plateau
  • Twin mountain – a symbolic natural landmark associated with local legends of womanhood and beauty

Arrive at Nam Dam, a peaceful Dao ethnic village. Check into your homestay and relax.

In the evening, join your host as she prepares a home-cooked dinner. Through simple moments in the kitchen, you will have the chance to learn about daily life in the village, hear personal stories, and experience the warm hospitality of a local Dao family.

Enjoy a family-style dinner, local rice wine, and relaxed conversations.

After dinner, take a short ride to Lung Tam village for a traditional hemp weaving workshop with local women artisans. Discover the careful process behind each handmade textile and the stories, skills, and traditions passed down through generations.

Return to your homestay for a peaceful night in Nam Dam.

DAY 2 | QUAN BA – LUNG CU – DONG VAN (B/L/D)

After breakfast, continue your journey deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark.

Throughout the day, you will pass some of the most spectacular landscapes in northern Vietnam.

Visit Lao Xa, an ancient Hmong village known for traditional houses and peaceful mountain scenery. Take a short walk through the village and meet friendly local residents.

Next, explore the historic mansion of the Hmong King and discover the architecture, history, and legacy of the Vuong family.

The visit will be introduced by a descendant of the Vuong family, who was born and raised within the mansion. Through personal stories and family memories passed down through generations, you will gain a deeper understanding of Hmong culture, the history of the royal family, and the lives of those who once lived here.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant nearby.

Continue to Lung Cu, the symbolic northernmost point of Vietnam. Climb to the top for panoramic views across the border landscapes of Vietnam and China.

Afterward, visit Then Pa, a traditional Hmong village where authentic local architecture and traditional lifestyles are still preserved.

Meet your host family and experience village life through their stories, daily activities, and warm hospitality. Learn how local families welcome travelers into their homes while maintaining their connection with traditional Hmong culture.

In the late afternoon, arrive in Dong Van Old Town and check into your hotel.

Enjoy free time to explore the ancient streets, discover local restaurants, and experience the town’s evening atmosphere.

DAY 3 | DONG VAN – MA PI LENG PASS – NHO QUE RIVER – DU GIA VILLAGE (B/L/D)

Enjoy breakfast and a morning coffee before another unforgettable day on the road.

Travel across one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Southeast Asia, famous for its dramatic cliffs and panoramic canyon views.

Take a scenic boat trip through the breathtaking Tu San Canyon before continuing to Meo Vac for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit a small honey-making workshop run by a local family. Learn about traditional beekeeping practices, the process of honey production, and the connection between local livelihoods and the surrounding natural environment.

Continue your journey through beautiful mountain landscapes toward Du Gia, a peaceful Tay ethnic village nestled in a green valley.

Check into a local homestay and meet your host family. You may join your hosts in preparing dinner and experience the warmth of a traditional Tay family home.

Enjoy a home-cooked meal, followed by tea and conversations with your hosts.

DAY 4 | DU GIA – HA GIANG CITY – HANOI (B/L)

On your final morning, enjoy breakfast prepared by the host family before beginning the journey back to Ha Giang City.

15:00 – Arrive back at the Hergo Travel Office. Relax, share your travel experiences, and say goodbye to your guide and driver.

You may board the 16:00 bus back to Hanoi or choose a later departure based on your preference.

Overnight bus back to Hanoi.
