A Letter from Our Founder

The Hergo Travel team was built on my passion for outdoor adventure and years of working as a local guide in Sapa. Along the way, I fell in love with the raw beauty of the mountains and the warmth of indigenous communities. But as tourism grew, I also witnessed beautiful places losing part of their soul to overcrowding and commercialization. I began to believe that travel could, and should, be different.

Guided by sustainable tourism principles and Travelife standards, I founded Hergo Travel with Ha Giang as our starting point. For me, 70% of Ha Giang’s true magic lies not just in its spectacular landscapes, but in its people, their cultural heritage, resilience, and everyday lives.

At the heart of Hergo is a commitment to women led travel. By working with women guides, women owned businesses, and local women who share their knowledge and traditions, we aim to create meaningful opportunities while offering travelers a deeper connection with the places they visit.

Hergo Travel is not an NGO or a charity project. It is a travel business built on my belief that journeys can be rewarding for travelers while creating genuine value for local people. We want our guests to leave Ha Giang with more than beautiful photographs: we want them to take home meaningful memories and a deeper understanding of the people who make this place so special.
