But as tourism boomed, seeing pristine places lose their soul to over-commercialization weighed heavily on me. I knew travel had to change.

Guided by sustainable tourism standards from Travelife, I founded HerGo Travel with Ha Giang as our starting point. For me, 70% of Ha Giang’s true magic doesn’t just live in its grand landscapes—it lives within its people: their rich heritage, resilient spirit, and everyday lives.

Born and raised in Ha Giang, Giang is passionate about protecting his homeland as mass tourism grows. Driven to change how people travel, he leads HerGo Travel with a clear mission: shifting from commercialized tourism to a sustainable approach that honors local culture, empowers communities, and creates fair job opportunities for indigenous people.

Born and raised in Ha Giang within the Red Dao ethnic community, Tu Anh and Hong carry an innate, deep-rooted connection to their motherland. Growing up surrounded by ancient traditions, forest lore, and rich heritage, they offer travelers far more than just navigation—they share the true soul of Ha Giang. Born and raised amid the majestic landscapes of Ha Giang, Hannah graduated with a degree in Tourism and built her career in sales at a local retreat. Though the lure of big cities once tempted her, seeing tourism flourish in her homeland inspired her to stay and dedicate her passion to Ha Giang.

Over years of working directly with local service providers, Hannah has developed a deep understanding of community unity, unwavering commitment, and heartfelt hospitality—always balanced with sustainable growth. She is also proudly certified by Travelife in sustainable tourism practices.
